I've decided to start my own blog about my FC build. I purchased a 1990, Mazda RX-7, GTU in the summer of 2005 with the intention of swapping out the Normally Aspirated engine to a Turbo Charged model.
The bad: the paint was faded, the wipers didn't work, the right turn signal didn't work, the sunroof couldn't fully open, there were a few dings, the rear hatch shocks were blown, there was a tear in the arm rest, the driver seat had the usual torn side bolster, manual windows, it was an S5 GTU (it was NA and had an open diff). The good: the interior was clean, it was pretty well taken care of for it's age, it was completly stock, the two previous owners had all the paperwork for the car, it was an S5 (it had the round tail lights, round gauge cluster dials, and better body style), and they guy only wanted $1900 to start with.
After some wheeling and dealing I bought the car, cash.
The first modification I did was get an HKS intake. I wanted to do everything HKS, but that didn't pan out. The next thing I did was get Tein S-Tech lowering springs, then an Apex'i N1 single tip exhaust. I then bought a short shifter kit from Mazdatrix. I found some used hatch shocks and a new motor for the sunroof. I picked up a new wiper switch and a Bonez straight pipe.
